Three perpetrators who defrauded citizens by impersonating employees of the electricity company were arrested following a pursuit in Patras. One accomplice remains at large.

On Monday afternoon, police in Patras and the surrounding area identified a vehicle carrying four people. These individuals are believed to have set up a fraud ring targeting citizens under the pretext that they worked for the electricity company.

As reported by pelop.gr, the suspected perpetrators accelerated to high speed in an attempt to escape. The pursuing authorities chased them through the streets of the area. At one point, the fleeing individuals abandoned their vehicle and continued on foot.

Eventually, three of the four were located in the cemetery area of Néo Súlio and arrested. The fourth member of the group remains at large and is being sought.

Police were mobilised following complaints from victims who had fallen victim to fraud. The investigation quickly led to the identification of the suspects.

In a search conducted, jewellery was found on the arrested individuals. Authorities are investigating whether these items were obtained through illegal activities. The authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the criminal activity and to locate additional victims.
