On Monday afternoon, police forces located a vehicle with four occupants who had been involved in fraud incidents. The driver developed high speed whilst attempting to evade inspection, which triggered a pursuit on the roads of the area.
Shortly afterwards, the suspects abandoned their vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Ultimately, police officers managed to locate three of the four at the cemetery of Nea Soulio, where they were taken into custody. The fourth perpetrator remains at large.
The mobilisation of the authorities was triggered by citizens' reports of fraud incidents. Police officers immediately launched investigations to identify those responsible.
According to information conveyed by in.gr, during the operation, jewellery was found and seized from those arrested. These items are being examined to determine whether they stem from illegal activity.
Investigations are continuing with the aim of determining the scope of the group's criminal activity and identifying any additional fraud incidents.
