A 44-year-old Albanian national was arrested in Glyfa, Phthiotis, accused of car theft and burglary of a residence. The man was located thanks to a geolocation application that had been installed on a tablet, which he had stolen during the burglary.
According to information from Lamia Report, the 44-year-old allegedly stole the car on Thursday, 9 July, and subsequently burgled a residence. During the investigation that followed, it emerged that the arrested man had been staying in the country illegally for the past five years.
The perpetrator was located via the tablet's geolocation application whilst he was on a beach in the area. Police authorities proceeded with his arrest and the filing of charges against him.
