According to iefimerida.gr, police authorities discovered a cannabis plantation containing 857 seedlings in a remote wooded area of the Tripoli municipality, with estimated illegal proceeds that would have reached €1.7 million.
The operation was carried out by police officers from the Crime Investigation and Prosecution Department of Tripoli, in cooperation with the Crime Prevention and Suppression Teams of Arcadia, Argolida and Messinia, the Motorcycle Patrol Team of Arcadia, as well as with the assistance of a drug detection police dog from Messinia.
The officers discovered a specially designed space with dense vegetation and natural cover, organised across 22 levels. The seedlings were at an early stage of development, with heights of up to approximately 50 centimetres.
In the same area, specially designed spaces were also found for drying and storing cannabis, tents with living equipment for the perpetrators, and irrigation equipment.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Crime Investigation and Prosecution Department of Tripoli. The police investigation continues with the aim of locating and arresting those responsible for the cultivation.
