Cannabis plantation in Valmi Pineias: Four arrests by police
Police officers from the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes Unit of Pyrgos uncovered an organised cannabis cultivation operation in an area of Ilia, following a targeted operation in Valmi Pineias.
In specially modified spaces used by the perpetrators, authorities discovered 78 cannabis plants across six separate locations. The seedlings were uprooted and seized, and 76.7 grammes of unprocessed cannabis were also found in the same space.
Four Greek nationals were arrested during the operation. Cases were filed against them for criminal organisation, as well as for trafficking, cultivation and possession of narcotics.
In subsequent searches of homes and storage locations, police officers found and seized an additional 7 kilograms of cannabis. Precision scales, mobile phones, two vehicles and a sum of money were also seized.
According to preliminary investigation findings, the four accused had been involved in cannabis cultivation since early April 2026, in cooperation with the organisation's leader—a person already known to authorities from previous cases. The suspects are alleged to have kept concealed quantities of narcotics from previous cultivation periods, with the aim of selling them in the future.
The arrested individuals were brought before the prosecutor of the District Court of Pyrgos. Investigations are continuing to identify possible associates and to map out the trafficking network.
