Felony charges have been brought against the supervisor of the Mykonos Urban Planning Department, who has been immediately placed on leave, according to ethnos.gr. The office remains closed while checks continue, which were initiated following serious complaints.
Complaint over "disappearance" of complaints and fines
In 2025 a criminal lawyer filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office against those responsible for the Mykonos Urban Planning Department. According to the indictment, the officials allegedly took action aimed at covering up cases of urban planning violations.
Specifically, it is alleged that 90 per cent of related complaints had disappeared, while in the department's electronic files there were no records of fines or inspections for the years 2023 and 2024. At the same time, some fines that had been imposed appear to have disappeared or been reduced without legal justification.
Raid on residence – amphora and drugs
As part of a police investigation being conducted by the Internal Affairs Service, a raid was carried out at the supervisor's residence. Files from the Urban Planning Department were seized and are being examined by the authorities.
According to reports by Alpha, during the same investigation an amphora and a small quantity of narcotic substances were also found.
