Police arrested a 16-year-old who, together with accomplices, was extorting a 14-year-old to hand over gold jewellery worth €10,000.

Porto Rafti: Minor arrested for extortion of teenager to obtain gold jewellery
A 16-year-old in Porto Rafti has been apprehended by authorities, accused of extorting a 14-year-old to hand over gold jewellery together with two other individuals. Police proceeded with the arrest of the minor perpetrator on the afternoon of 12 June.
According to information that has come to light, the three perpetrators threatened the victim with physical violence in order to gradually seize his mother's jewellery. The stolen items were subsequently sold to a gold exchange. The total value of the seized articles is estimated at €10,000.
During a search of the 16-year-old's home, police found and confiscated five flares, a mechanism for launching them, as well as a knuckleduster. A criminal case was filed against him for extortion and violations of weapons legislation.
The minor's mother was also arrested, charged with failure to supervise a minor. The two accomplices of the 16-year-old have been identified and are being sought by authorities. The arrested individual was brought before the prosecutor.
