An active official of the National Intelligence Service filed a complaint over the infiltration of his mobile phone with Predator. Among the accused is Tal Dilian.
Complaint by National Intelligence Service official over wiretaps via Predator — Dilian in the spotlight
A new complaint was filed with the Prosecutor's Office of the Athens District Court as part of the wiretapping case involving Predator software, according to reports by Naftemporiki. The complainant is Ioannis Papadopoulos, an active official of the National Intelligence Service (EYP).
The complaint is directed against four already-convicted parties, including Israeli businessman Tal Dilian. The charges that are being brought include breach of confidentiality of communications, formation of a criminal organisation, and espionage.
In the text of the complaint it is emphasised that this particular case differs substantially from those of the other Predator victims. The reason is that the official, by virtue of his position and service duties, handles absolutely confidential information. The leaking of it to third parties, private individuals at that, is estimated to directly threaten national security and constitutes espionage.
In parallel, the complainant is asking the authorities to broaden their investigations so as to identify all persons involved in the case — whether as perpetrators, accomplices or conspirators.
