Police officers discovered a deceased person inside a flat on Astydamantus Street following a report of an unpleasant odour. His brother, aged 63, was also present at the location and was taken in for questioning.

A report of a strong foul odour emanating from a residence on Astydamantus Street in the Pagrati area prompted the Rapid Response unit to mobilise on Sunday afternoon, 5 July. Officers who attended the scene entered the interior of the flat, where they discovered two brothers. One of the two was dead, wrapped in a sheet and in an advanced stage of decomposition. The second, aged 63, was present there alive.
The police authorities took the 63-year-old in for questioning. Initial information indicates that he faces significant psychological issues.
For the present, the manner in which the unfortunate man lost his life remains unknown. The prosecuting authorities are investigating every possibility, although the theory of a crime or death from natural causes has neither been ruled out nor confirmed.
