Rethymno: Teenager admitted to hospital for alcohol intoxication – kiosk manager arrested
A 14-year-old girl was transferred on the evening of Friday, 29 May to Rethymno Hospital after showing signs of intoxication. The minor had obtained an alcoholic drink from a kiosk in the city, along with other peers of the same age.
After a short time the child felt unwell and the ambulance service was called. An ambulance transported her to the medical facility, where doctors provided her with the necessary care. Her health was not a cause for concern and, after monitoring her condition, she was discharged.
The authorities proceeded with the arrest of a 54-year-old woman, who was temporarily responsible for the kiosk. A case file was opened against her, as she is alleged to have sold alcohol to the minor. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
