Rethymno: 30-year-old arrested for theft of tools and narcotics
Police officers in Rethymno identified a man who had stolen equipment worth €14,000 from a house. During a search of his home, traces of cocaine were also found.
Rethymno: 30-year-old arrested for theft of tools and narcotics
Police authorities in Rethymno proceeded yesterday with the arrest of a 30-year-old foreign national, who is accused of theft of equipment from a residence. A case file has been opened against him.
According to findings from the investigation, between 27 and 29 June 2026, the suspect entered a house under construction and gradually removed various tools, including electric tools and batteries. The total value of the stolen items amounts to €14,000.
Police officers, utilising information from the preliminary investigation, managed to identify the perpetrator. When they conducted a search of his residence, they located all the stolen items, which were seized and returned to the owners. At the same time, a small quantity of cocaine was found in his possession, which was also seized.
The case is being handled by the Prosecution and Crime Investigation Department of Rethymno.
