Rethymno: Four arrests for drugs, weapons and livestock theft
A police operation in the Mylopótamos Municipality area resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of significant quantities of drugs, a weapon and cash.
Rethymno: Four arrests for drugs, weapons and livestock theft
As part of special operations by Rethymno Police Directorate to combat the possession and trafficking of drugs, illegal weapons possession and livestock theft, a police operation was carried out on Saturday in an area of Mylopótamos Municipality.
Police officers from the Drug Enforcement Section and the Police Operations Section of Rethymno, utilising information from the Mylopótamos Police Sub-Directorate, conducted inspections of houses, surrounding areas and stables. The operation resulted in the arrest of four Greek nationals, aged 20, 23, 53 and 61.
The following items were located and seized during house searches: • Over one kilogramme of cocaine in rock form (1,110 grammes) • One revolver with three magazines • €32,800 in cash, which was considered proceeds of illegal activity • Four mobile phones • Several identification tags for sheep and goats
Four cannabis plants were also found in a field next to a residence and were seized. Additionally, a criminal case was formed for livestock theft, as during the inspection it was not possible to explain the origin of the herd.
The four arrested individuals were brought before the judicial authorities.
