Rhodope: Trafficker arrested with six migrants on Egnatia Highway
Police officers in Rhodope immobilised a private car on the Egnatia Highway and arrested a foreign driver who was illegally transporting six undocumented migrants.
Rhodope: Trafficker arrested with six migrants on Egnatia Highway
Police officers in Rhodope stopped a passenger car on the Egnatia Highway in the section between Alexandroupoli and Komotini, and arrested the driver. The man, of foreign origin, was transporting six individuals in his vehicle who did not possess the necessary documents for legal residence in the country.
Officers from the Crime Investigation and Detection Unit of Komotini participated in the operation, in cooperation with colleagues from the Border Guard Unit of Sapai under the Directorate of Police of Rhodope.
The vehicle was seized, whilst the arrested man is expected to appear before the competent prosecutor to answer charges against him.
