A 47-year-old man arrested in Rhodes for attacking a 42-year-old woman separated from him, following a report of assault and theft of personal items.

An alert was raised on the evening of Saturday, 4 July at a petrol station in Rhodes, where a 47-year-old man attacked the woman from whom he had divorced.
The victim, 42 years old, was at that time in a parked car with her current partner, 48 years old. According to her statement, the ex-husband appeared suddenly at the location at approximately 23:00. Without warning, he forcibly opened the driver's door and hit the woman in the face. He then attempted to remove her from the vehicle by pulling her by the arm, whilst directing insulting remarks at her.
Before leaving the location, the man grabbed personal items from inside the car. Among these were a pair of sunglasses, the 48-year-old passenger's wallet which contained approximately 900 euros, his identity card, his driving licence and a bank card.
In her statement to the authorities, the 42-year-old reported that her ex-husband had been following her recently, causing her to feel fear and insecurity. She also reported a surveillance incident outside her home approximately one week prior, without specifying an exact date. She further claimed that the perpetrator had installed a tracking device in the vehicle, which she has not located to date.
The woman filed a complaint, whilst the 48-year-old who was present also made a similar report. The 47-year-old was arrested a few hours after the incident and was taken before the Misdemeanours Prosecutor of Rhodes for his further criminal treatment to be determined.
