Police forces in Rhodes proceeded to arrest a 19-year-old teenager, who was identified as responsible for multiple break-ins. The incidents occurred from late May until recently, at commercial shops and businesses on the island.
Authorities believe the youth is implicated in at least ten separate thefts. The investigation resulted from a combination of information, collection of evidence, and intensive police enquiries.
Following his arrest, a case file was opened against him and he was brought before the judicial authorities. The investigations have not been completed, as police are examining the possibility that the youth may be involved in other similar incidents that have been recorded on the island. At the same time, the total amount of financial damage suffered by the affected business owners is being determined.
