A 41-year-old foreign national was detained in police custody in Rhodes after it emerged that he was being sought internationally for murder. The arrest was carried out by officers from the local crime prosecution service on Monday as part of an investigation into a domestic violence incident.
During a check of his details, it became apparent that an international warrant had been issued against him by Turkish authorities, with charges of intentional homicide. Police officers proceeded immediately with his arrest and subsequently took him to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Appeals of the Dodecanese, so that proceedings could be initiated as provided for under the execution of the international warrant.
