17-year-old arrested for attempted theft of gold chain in Agios Panteleimon
Officers from the DIAS unit arrested a 17-year-old of Egyptian origin who attacked a 42-year-old woman to steal a chain from her. A second 17-year-old was also arrested with a blade in his possession.
Two minors arrested following attempted robbery in Agios Panteleimon
Officers from the DIAS Unit arrested a 17-year-old of Egyptian origin yesterday afternoon, accused of attempted robbery against a 42-year-old woman in the Agios Panteleimon area, according to Ta Nea.
According to police, earlier that day the 17-year-old approached the woman who was walking in the area and, using force, attempted to remove the gold chain from her neck.
The 42-year-old called emergency services. Officers from the DIAS Unit located the perpetrator following a search of the area, immobilised him and took him to the Crime Investigation and Detection Division at Agios Panteleimon.
With the 17-year-old was another 17-year-old, in whose possession a blade was found.
The Crime Investigation Division filed charges against the first for attempted robbery and against the second for breach of weapons legislation. Both arrested individuals were taken before the competent prosecutor.
