Arrest at Souda: 22-year-old disembarked from ship with suitcase full of drugs
According to In.gr, officers from the Regional Drug Prosecution Team (PODIN) of the Central Port Authority of Chania arrested a 22-year-old at the Souda passenger port on the morning of Tuesday (20/10), accused of breaching Law 4139/2013 "On Addictive Substances".
The young man disembarked from a passenger-vehicle ferry that had arrived from Piraeus. During the inspection conducted after docking, two LSD-impregnated sheets of paper and four nylon packages containing raw cannabis distillate, with a combined gross weight of 23.35 grammes, were found in his possession.
A lawful search was subsequently carried out at his residence, in the presence of a judicial officer and with the assistance of a narcotics detection police dog from EL.AS. Two additional nylon packages of cannabis with a combined gross weight of 10 grammes were found there, as well as a metal grinding device, metal and plastic smoking paraphernalia and two glass components — all bearing residues of cannabis plant extracts.
The Central Port Authority of Chania, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, seized all the recovered items.
