An operation by prosecuting authorities in Agioi Anargyroi has led to the arrest of a young man, aged 22. The suspect is accused of trafficking in narcotics and unlawful possession of weapons.
According to Naftemporiki, the Hellenic Police had information about drug trafficking from residential bases in the area. Following investigation, the authorities identified the suspect and confirmed his activities.
The arrested man had utilised a semi-basement space in a residential building as a warehouse for the illegal substances. In order to conceal the actual use, he presented it as a hairdressing shop. However, he did not possess any lawful licence for such an enterprise.
At a second location that was searched, police officers discovered a fully equipped laboratory for hydroponic cultivation of cannabis plants. During the investigations, quantities of narcotics and related equipment were found and seized.
A second person is also implicated in the case, who has already been identified by authorities. The main accused has been brought before the prosecutor. Investigations continue to locate any additional members of the criminal network.
