Arrest for club attack on ex-partner in Pyrgos
Police authorities in Pyrgos arrested a 26-year-old man who was being sought for a violent club attack against his ex-partner. The arrest was carried out on the evening of Friday, 18 September, following an operation by the OPDI of the Eleia Police Directorate and the Department for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Ilida.
According to Ta Nea, the incident was reported in the early hours of Saturday. The victims were a 36-year-old woman and her father, who were attacked by her ex-partner and a friend of the same age.
The two men appeared wearing hoods outside the 36-year-old's residence and caused damage to her car. When the woman went out to see what was happening, she was struck repeatedly with clubs.
Her father intervened to help her, with the result that he was also attacked. The 36-year-old suffered a fractured hand, whilst her father was wounded in the head.
During the attack, the father managed to remove the hood from the face of the 26-year-old and identified him, according to the complaint he filed with the authorities. The two alleged perpetrators left the scene immediately after the incident.
