Arrest of 30-year-old Greek man for supplying weapons to Turkish Dalton mafia in Thessaloniki
The 30-year-old surrendered voluntarily and was arrested on Friday, whilst the 36-year-old Turk had already been arrested in Kavala.

The 30-year-old Greek man implicated in the case of supplying weapons to members of the Turkish organised crime group Dalton surrendered voluntarily and was arrested at midday on Friday, 25 September 2026, according to ERT.
The suspect came forward of his own accord to the office of the Sub-directorate for Combating Organised Crime in Northern Greece, where he was remanded in custody. He will be taken before the competent prosecuting authority.
The previous day, Thursday 24 September, the 36-year-old Turkish accomplice was located in Kavala and arrested following a coordinated operation by the Crimes Against Life and Personal Freedom office, with the assistance of the Information and Special Operations section. A remand order was issued against him for detention in a correctional facility.
The two accused were initially arrested on Saturday 12 September 2026 in Thessaloniki as part of an investigation into arms trafficking intended for a Turkish criminal organisation. Police officers from the Sub-directorate found them leaving a ground-floor storage space of a premises, carrying a cardboard box and a bag.
Inside, among other items, they found a long-range rifle with a scope suitable for a marksman and an Uzi-type submachine gun. According to the confession of one of the accused, both weapons were intended for members of the Dalton organisation.
Following their initial arrest, the court had released them with restrictive conditions — a decision to which the prosecutor objected. By ruling of the Court of Appeals, the remand in custody of the 36-year-old was decided, a fact which led to a police mobilisation to locate him outside the Thessaloniki prefecture. Arrest warrants were issued against both men for the offence of aggravated possession of weapons.
