A 34-year-old Russian woman was arrested in Thessaloniki after opening the door of her car and hitting a motorcyclist, subsequently leaving the scene.
Arrest for leaving scene of traffic accident on Karamanlys Avenue
A 34-year-old Russian national was arrested in Thessaloniki for leaving the scene of a traffic accident, according to reports from Naftemporiki. The incident took place on Monday afternoon on Konstantinos Karamanlys Avenue.
According to the Hellenic Police, the 34-year-old was stationary in front of a red traffic light when she opened the door of her car without conducting a prior check. A passing motorcycle, ridden by a 41-year-old man, struck the open door, resulting in the rider sustaining minor injuries.
The driver left the scene without taking the measures required by law. Police officers from the Thessaloniki Traffic Subdivision located and arrested her the following morning.
