35-year-old arrested for murder with mutilation in Thessaloniki
A 35-year-old foreign national is in the hands of the investigative authorities of the co-capital, accused of the brutal murder of a 24-year-old compatriot. The lifeless body of the victim had been discovered three years ago, in June 2022, in a coastal area between Kalochori and Chalastra.
The corpse was mutilated — the head and lower limbs were missing — a fact that greatly hindered the work of police officers. The identification of the deceased became possible only after specialised laboratory examinations and analysis of fingerprints.
The investigating magistrate who is examining the case had issued a warrant for the apprehension of the 35-year-old, which was executed. The arrested man was taken to the prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Thessaloniki so that criminal proceedings could be initiated.
From the investigations conducted so far, it emerges that four persons in total are behind the crime, all originally from Pakistan.
