37-year-old arrested in Thessaloniki for child sexual abuse material – 9 image files
The Cyber Crime Prosecution of Northern Greece has arrested a 37-year-old following a search of his home in Thessaloniki. A mobile phone and hard drive containing nine images of child sexual abuse material were seized.

The Cyber Crime Prosecution Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece has formulated felony charges against a 37-year-old Greek man for possession of child sexual abuse material, according to a police announcement reported by Ta Nea.
The case was uncovered as part of a prosecutor's order for preliminary investigation. On Friday, 25 September 2026, in the presence of a judicial officer, a search was conducted at his residence in Thessaloniki.
During the search, a mobile telephone and a computer hard drive were seized. Following on-site digital analysis of the evidence, police identified the involvement of the 37-year-old: nine image files containing child sexual abuse material were located on one of the digital devices.
The seized material will be subjected to further laboratory examination by the Criminal Investigation Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece. The 37-year-old has been arrested and is expected to be brought before the competent prosecutor along with the case file compiled against him.
