Police arrested a man alleged to have participated in an organised gang that targeted shops in Kifissia and Lykovrysi, stealing more than €12,500.

A 39-year-old man was arrested by prosecutors, as he is implicated in cases of armed robberies at shops in the northern suburbs.
The police investigation revealed that the man had collaborated with others to form a group that systematically carried out thefts and armed robberies. Their method of operation involved stealing vehicles, which they used to approach target shops, leaving them parked nearby.
The perpetrators would then enter the premises and, using threats of weapons, would grab money from the tills and from staff. In order to avoid being identified, they wore gloves, caps and hoods while committing the crimes.
From the two robberies they committed in Kifissia and Lykovrysi, the gang obtained illegal proceeds exceeding €12,500. The arrested man was brought before the Public Prosecutor.
