Police officers arrested a 39-year-old man accused of involvement in a criminal gang that carried out armed robberies at businesses in northern Attica. The stolen amounts exceed €12,500.

A 39-year-old man was arrested by the prosecuting authorities, as he is implicated in an organised group that carried out armed attacks on shops in areas of northern Attica. The gang's proceeds from two strikes in Kifisia and Lykovrysi are estimated at a sum exceeding €12,500.
The investigation revealed that the arrested man, together with other members, had created a structured network with the aim of committing thefts and armed robberies professionally and on a continuous basis. Their tactics included first the theft of vehicles, which they subsequently used to approach their victims.
The raiders then entered the business premises, threatening staff with a weapon and removing cash from the tills. To avoid detection, they took precautions during their activities such as gloves, hats and hoods.
The 39-year-old was brought before the Public Prosecutor.
