Arrest of 41-year-old in Kavala for drugs and illegal weapons
Personnel from the Drug Prosecution Office of Kavala Port Authority arrested a 41-year-old Greek national who was transporting various quantities of narcotics via a passenger vessel bound for Thassos.

Port authority officials from the drug enforcement office at Kavala harbour arrested a 41-year-old man yesterday morning. The arrested man faces two charges: violation of the law on addictive substances and violation of the law on weapons.
The 41-year-old was located at the passenger port in Keramothi at the moment he was boarding a vessel heading to Thassos. During the inspection, quantities of pharmaceutical tablets were found in his possession: five diazepam tablets, twelve and a half bromazepam tablets, and eight alprazolam tablets.
Simultaneously, police officers conducted searches with the participation of a judicial officer at two different locations. At his residence in Thessaloniki, with the assistance of the dog "Bobér", a metal grinder and a hunting knife with a 25 centimetre blade in a sheath were located. At an accommodation he used in Thassos, with the help of the dog "Thor", a digital scale with residues of raw cannabis was found, capable of weighing from 0.3 grammes to 3 kilogrammes.
Kavala Port Authority, which is handling the case, proceeded to confiscate all of the above items, a mobile device, and 225 euros in cash.
