Coast Guard officials discovered thirteen packets of raw cannabis, weighing almost three kilograms, as well as two electronic scales, in the home of a man in Attica.

A 50-year-old man, a Greek national, was arrested yesterday afternoon in an area of Attica, charged with violation of legislation concerning narcotic substances. The operation was based on information utilised by officers of the Regional Drug Prosecution Group of the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard, in cooperation with the Security Department of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.
After obtaining the relevant warrant, a search was conducted at the suspect's residence in the presence of a prosecutor. A trained narcotics detection dog also participated in the operation. During the search, thirteen packets of raw cannabis were found, with a total weight of 2,911 grammes. Additionally, two precision scales with residue of the same substance were seized.
The narcotics and equipment came into the possession of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which is conducting the investigation. The illegal cannabis will be sent to the General Chemical State Laboratory for laboratory examination.
