Arrest of elderly fugitive in Chania with active warrant for attempted murder
On 29 June, police officers from OPKE in Chania, Crete, arrested a 73-year-old man against whom an active arrest warrant had been issued.
The judicial order had been issued by the Second Investigation Department of the region. The arrested man is accused of serious criminal offences, including attempted murder. Additionally, he faces charges relating to animal cruelty and animal killing, as well as violations related to domestic violence.
The preliminary investigation into the case has been undertaken by the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Chania.
