A 26-year-old was arrested at Amygdaleza while attempting to pass cannabis in chocolate form hidden in clothing to a detainee.

On the afternoon of 25 June 2026, police forces proceeded with the arrest of a young man aged 26, a national of a third country, who attempted to transport prohibited substances into the Pre-Departure Detention Centre for Foreigners in Amygdaleza.
The arrested man had gone to the premises for a visit, with the intention of handing over the drugs to a person who was being held there. During inspection, the authorities located dozens of small packages inside his clothing that contained 12.8 grammes of cannabis in chocolate form. The illegal substance had been placed with particular care in the seam of his trousers.
Following his arrest, the 26-year-old was brought before the prosecutor in order to be charged with violation of the provisions concerning narcotics.
