A 63-year-old man of foreign nationality was arrested yesterday, Thursday 2 July 2026, by officers of the Kos Department for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crime. A European arrest warrant had been issued against him by the French authorities.
The Hellenic Police announced that the man in question was wanted in connection with charges linked to copyright infringements, money laundering from illegal activities, and participation in a criminal organisation.
The operation was carried out as part of cross-border police checks and cooperation between European states in locating wanted persons. Following his arrest, he was taken to the competent judicial authorities and is expected to be presented to the Court of Appeal Prosecutors of the Dodecanese to commence extradition proceedings.
