Arrest of smuggler and two migrants at Igoumenitsa port
A 47-year-old from Turkey was arrested for illegally transporting two foreign nationals hidden in a lorry, with the aim of smuggling them out of the country.

Officers from the Security Division of the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa made three arrests during a control at the entrance to the international port. Among those arrested is a 47-year-old driver, a Turkish national, as well as two foreign nationals he was transporting in hiding.
Port Authority officers discovered the two passengers in the vehicle's sleeping cabin. The foreign nationals did not possess valid travel documents. The purpose of the journey was illegal departure from Greece.
The three were arrested and brought before the authorities. The preliminary investigation is ongoing at the Central Port Authority. The lorry and sleeping cabin were seized.
