Police authorities arrested a 61-year-old hotel manager in Heraklion, Crete, following a complaint filed by a minor employee who alleged physical violence, verbal abuse and threats.

Police authorities arrested a 61-year-old hotel manager in an area of the Chersonissos municipality in Heraklion, Crete. The arrest took place on Thursday morning, following a complaint filed by a minor employee.
The young worker alleged that the manager had physically assaulted him, verbally abused him and threatened him. The incident was reported to have occurred on Wednesday, according to what was recorded in the complaint submitted to the local police station.
Giorgos Pelekanakis, president of the Panhellenic Federation of Hotel Managers, publicly commented on the incident. He characterised such behaviour as unacceptable and stressed that in no way does it align with the values of the tourism sector.
