Police located and arrested a 57-year-old man in the wider Attica region who was under investigation by authorities for substance trafficking. The operation was carried out by officers from the Organised Crime Combat Directorate, following information they had gathered.
During a search conducted on the afternoon of 27 May, two packets of cocaine weighing 1.5 grammes were found on him. The officers suspected he intended to sell the quantity.
In a subsequent search of his home, eight additional packages of the same substance were discovered, with a total weight of 108.5 grammes. A small quantity of heroin, two mobile phones, a digital scales and 140 euros in cash were also seized there.
According to a police announcement, the man had illegally left a correctional facility after failing to return from a six-day leave that had been granted to him. His history includes multiple legal entanglements for similar offences.
He was brought before a prosecutor.
