Two foreign nationals arrested for chain thefts at Metro stations

Police officers on patrol at the Metro station in Kifissia brought in two young foreign nationals, aged 17 and 18, for questioning as they considered them suspects. During the search, a stun gun was found in the possession of the older of the two and was immediately confiscated.

Following an investigation at the police station, it emerged that the pair had committed at least three robberies using physical violence at various Metro stations. Their victims were women, from whom they forcibly snatched jewellery worn around their necks.

The authorities drew up a case against them for robbery in complicity and for illegal possession of a weapon. The arrested individuals were subsequently brought before the prosecutor.
