A 73-year-old man was arrested in Crete following an arrest warrant issued against him for attempted murder, animal cruelty and domestic violence.
Arrest of elderly man in Chania for attempted murder
A 73-year-old man has been taken into custody by prosecutors in the Chania area, in Crete. His apprehension took place on the afternoon of 29 June, when officers from OPKE located and arrested him.
An arrest warrant had been issued against him by the 2nd Investigative Department of the region. The offences attributed to him include attempted murder, violations of legislation concerning animal theft and animal cruelty, as well as domestic violence.
The investigation into the case has been taken on by the Subdirectorate of Prosecution and Crime Investigation of Chania, which is conducting the preliminary inquiry.
