Police arrested a man in Ioannina for possession and trafficking of narcotics; approximately 20 grammes of heroin and cannabis were seized.
Arrest for drug trafficking in Ioannina
A man was arrested in the Ioannina area by police from the Drug Enforcement Division as he is being investigated for involvement in the trade of psychotropic substances.
The authorities proceeded with the arrest following information indicating that the suspect was supplying users in the area. During the subsequent search of his residence, ten packets of heroin with a total weight of less than 20 grammes were found and seized, as well as a small quantity of raw cannabis.
Additionally, a portable wireless transceiver was found in his possession. A case file was drawn up against the defendant for illegal possession and trafficking of narcotics, whilst a breach of telecommunications legislation is also being investigated.
The arrested man was brought before the prosecutorial authorities of Ioannina.
