Chase on Theodoraki Avenue: 33-year-old TikToker arrested — disputes charges

Police authorities in Thessaloniki proceeded today, Wednesday, with the arrest of a well-known TikToker and businessman, 33 years old, following a chase on the western side of the city. According to Dikastiko.gr, the arrest took place on Theodoraki Street, with charges of dangerous driving and non-compliance.

The 33-year-old reacted immediately via social media, posting videos in which he alleges that police officers in a civilian vehicle pursued him and broke the windows of his car with batons. He also claims that the chase took place without the officers activating a flashing light and without an audible signal. In a second video posted shortly afterwards, he categorically denies all charges against him.

From the police side, sources cited by voria.gr present a different picture of events. According to these sources, the chase started from the Analipsi toll booths, when the vehicle was spotted moving at excessive speed. The driver did not respond to the first stop signal, nor to subsequent signals given to him.

Police sources report that the 33-year-old entered a service road on Theodoraki Avenue and collided with parked vehicles. When his car was finally immobilised, the driver locked himself inside and refused to open the door. Then, according to these sources, police officers broke the passenger window and the rear right window in order to proceed with his arrest.

The Police emphasise that an investigation is being conducted both into the incident itself and into the procedure for checking the 33-year-old.
