Physical Education Teacher in Voula Accused of Harassment of Three Underage Pupils
A 58-year-old Physical Education teacher was arrested in Voula on Thursday afternoon, 15 October, at 12:45, following complaints of sexual harassment of underage pupils, according to To Vima. The educator, born in 1968, is also a coach of a women's basketball team.
The case began with a complaint filed by the mother of a 13-year-old pupil at the Department for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes (TΔEΕ) in Vari–Voula–Vouliagmeni. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, 14 October, during a lesson at a gymnasium in the area. The teacher allegedly touched the thigh of the 13-year-old girl, who was born in 2013.
Statements from Two Additional Underage Pupils
As part of the police investigation, additional complaints against the educator were examined. Two other underage pupils stated that, at an earlier time and during lessons, the teacher allegedly touched them on the genitals.
Additionally, according to information available, the educator allegedly asked pupils to give him a massage. The statements of the two pupils were incorporated into the original complaint and formed part of the investigation being conducted by the competent police authorities.
Criminal File for Sexual Abuse
A criminal file was opened against the 58-year-old for sexual abuse. Following his arrest, he is expected to be brought before the prosecutor in order for the legal procedure to be followed. The case is under investigation by the competent authorities.
