Police arrested a 30-year-old foreign national on Mykonos who is accused of drug trafficking, whilst a European arrest warrant issued by Italian authorities was pending against him.

Law enforcement authorities proceeded with the arrest of a 30-year-old foreign national on Mykonos, who faces charges for violation of provisions concerning controlled substances, as well as for breach of regulations regarding the entry and residence of foreign nationals in Greek territory.
A European arrest warrant had been issued against the arrested man by the Italian authorities in connection with a drug-smuggling case. In parallel, German authorities had issued a decision prohibiting his entry and residence in Schengen zone countries.
Following the evaluation of information regarding his activities on the island, the 30-year-old was located and arrested. The investigation revealed that using his vehicle he conducted frequent short-duration meetings, delivering to customers packages resembling cocaine "fixes" and collecting money.
During subsequent searches at his residence, at a storage space he used, and in his vehicle, authorities located and seized:
• 15 packages of cocaine, weighing 15.1 grammes • 3 packages of ketamine, weighing 3.6 grammes • 13 packages of raw cannabis, weighing 13.8 grammes • 2 packages of hallucinogenic mushrooms, weighing 1.7 grammes • 1 precision electronic scale • 1 knife • 1 mobile telephone • 1 laptop computer • cash amounting to €1,610
Authorities estimate that total proceeds from the drug trafficking would have amounted to €45,085.
The arrested individual will be brought before the prosecutor, while the seized substances will be sent for laboratory analysis.
