Police in Rhodes have arrested a 44-year-old man for violations of animal protection legislation after an inspection found that one of two animals in his care had died.

A 44-year-old Rhodes resident has been brought before the investigating authorities following an inspection carried out by police from the Archangelos Police Department. The arrest was made on the afternoon of 9 June and concerns violations of animal protection legislation.
During an inspection of the premises where he kept his pets, the authorities established that the man was caring for two dogs without meeting the conditions laid down by law for the proper living conditions of animals. Additionally, one of the two animals had already died.
Following the above findings, charges were brought against the 44-year-old for violation of provisions concerning the protection of companion animals.
