Police arrested a person in Thessaloniki who is alleged to have cultivated narcotic plants in a residence and an abandoned building.
Arrest in Thessaloniki for cultivation of 26 cannabis plants
A man was arrested in Thessaloniki on suspicion of cannabis cultivation, following an operation by police from the Kilkis Crime Investigation and Detection Department.
During a search of the suspect's residence, authorities found a room where eleven cannabis plants were being cultivated, with a maximum height of half a metre. The seedlings were uprooted and taken into the custody of prosecuting authorities.
At a second location, specifically in an abandoned sheepfold in an agricultural area of the region, police discovered another fifteen cannabis plants, which reached heights of up to two metres. A total of twenty-six seedlings were seized.
In addition to the plants, quantities of cannabis product were found. Specifically, two packages of unprocessed cannabis weighing 590 grammes were seized, one package containing plant remnants weighing 3,710 grammes, as well as a digital precision scale.
The arrested person will be presented before the Thessaloniki District Prosecutor, whilst the file compiled includes charges for cultivation and possession of narcotic drugs.
