Greek police have arrested three people over the arson attack on the home of conservative politician Afroditi Nestora. The attack on 1 July cost the life of her 72-year-old mother.

Greek authorities in Thessaloniki have proceeded with the arrest of three individuals suspected of carrying out the arson attack on the residence of conservative politician Afroditi Nestora.
During the attack, which occurred on 1 July, the politician's mother lost her life. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced today in parliament that ten days after the incident, authorities have fulfilled their commitment to locate and arrest those responsible. Mr Mitsotakis stressed that the state will continue to deal decisively with those who attempt to spread fear in society through acts of violence.
The attack on the home of the politician from the ruling party "New Democracy" took place in the early morning hours of 1 July. Cars were set alight in the garage of the apartment building in Thessaloniki, resulting in Nestora's 72-year-old mother sustaining fatal burns. Four other people were injured.
In recent decades Greece has been repeatedly affected by politically motivated violent action. Although previous terrorist organisations have largely been dismantled, autonomous groups continue to carry out arson attacks and bombings, targeting politicians, state services, police stations, banks and businesses.
