A police raid was carried out at Agios Stefanos prison in Patras, with the aim of checking for illegal substances within the correctional facility.
Late last night, a strong police force, together with prison personnel and prosecutorial presence, conducted searches in areas where inmates are held.
A total of six people were apprehended by the prosecutorial authorities—five foreign nationals and one Greek. The charges they face concern the trafficking and possession of prohibited substances, whilst in one case a mobile phone was also found.
The authorities located and seized doses of methamphetamine, synthetic cannabis as well as pharmaceutical tablets.
The six arrested are due to be presented before the prosecutor.
