On the night of Thursday, 2 July 2026, officers from the Organised Crime Confrontation Directorate conducted inspections of premises in Athens and Kallithea, searching for victims of human trafficking. The operation was carried out in cooperation with the NGO "OUR RESCUE", which works in supporting and protecting exploited persons.
In three locations that had been closed by decision of municipal authorities, it was established that they continued to operate. Police officers proceeded with the arrest of seven women, who face charges for breaking a seal and violations of legislation concerning foreign nationals.
From the inspections, a sum of 1,535 euros in cash was seized. The arrested individuals were brought before prosecuting authorities, and procedures were initiated for new sealing of the premises.
