Greek police have arrested three people in Thessaloniki as suspects in the arson attack on the home of conservative politician Afroditi Latinopoulou, which resulted in the death of her 72-year-old mother.

Three people have been arrested in Thessaloniki as suspects in the attack on the home of conservative politician Afroditi Latinopoulou. The politician's 72-year-old mother died as a result of the attack, according to NRA.
On 1 July, in the early morning, cars were set on fire in the garage of the apartment building. The politician's mother suffered fatal burns. Four other people were injured.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced to Parliament that ten days after the attack, the authorities had kept their promise to locate and arrest those responsible. He stressed that the state would continue to deal decisively with those who attempt to spread fear in society through violent action.
In recent decades, Greece has been repeatedly shaken by politically motivated violence. Although previous terrorist organisations have been largely eliminated, autonomous groups continue to carry out arson attacks and explosions, targeting politicians, state services, police stations, banks and businesses.
