A 30-year-old from Kosovo was arrested in the Doirani area of Kilkis as part of the execution of a European arrest warrant that had been issued against him by Croatian authorities.
According to ProtoThema, the detainee was taken to the Court of Appeal Public Prosecutor's Office in Thessaloniki so that the process of executing the warrant could proceed. Following his examination, it was decided to hold him pending a decision by the competent Judicial Council on the Croatian extradition request.
The case falls within the framework of cross-border cooperation between European states for the execution of arrest warrants and the tackling of cross-border crime. The 30-year-old is being held in Greek prisons until the completion of the judicial proceedings that will determine whether he should be extradited to Croatian authorities.
