A 50-year-old coast guard officer was arrested in Thessaloniki following a complaint by his 49-year-old wife for physical violent behaviour.

A 50-year-old man serving in the Coast Guard was arrested in Thessaloniki following a complaint filed against him by his 49-year-old wife. The woman, who is of foreign origin, alleged that her partner assaulted her.
According to a report by ERT, the complaint of physical abuse led police officers from the Leukos Pyrgos District to arrest the perpetrator.
Following the arrest, a case file was opened for an incident of domestic violence. The 50-year-old is expected to be brought before the Naval Court, as his status as a uniformed Coast Guard officer places the prosecution under military justice.
