Officers from the Drug Enforcement Division in Lamia proceeded to arrest a young man aged 18, who is accused of trafficking psychotropic substances in the area. The incident occurred on the afternoon of 21 June 2026.

The officers were discreetly monitoring the suspect, who arrived by car at a location near the City Hall of the town, which he used as a hiding place. When he left the location, he encountered the officers. He then threw what he was holding to the ground and attempted to escape by running, but was unsuccessful.

At the scene, four packages of raw cannabis were confiscated, weighing 6 grammes in total. In searches that followed at the perpetrator's car and house, the authorities found an additional quantity of raw cannabis weighing 88.1 grammes in seven makeshift packages, a digital scale with traces of cannabis, 28 pills of medication without a doctor's prescription, a sum of money of 486 euros and 5 dollars, a card knife, a folding knife, and numerous plastic bags for packaging the substances.

The car he was driving was also confiscated. The preliminary investigation was conducted by the Investigation and Crime Resolution Sub-Directorate of Lamia. The 18-year-old was brought before the District Prosecutor and referred for full investigation.
