Kyriakos Tataridis, the head of Grevena Municipality, was taken into custody following a complaint filed by a municipal employee. The complainant, who works in the financial services department, claims that the mayor verbally attacked her and threatened her.
The incident reportedly occurred during a meeting with department heads to approve the budget. The employee filed the complaint on Friday, immediately after the incident.
For his part, the mayor denied the allegations. In a video posted on YouTube, he argued that he was strict with his subordinate, but there was no threat, violent behaviour, or insult directed at her. As he stated, the employee went to the police station and filed a complaint for violent treatment.
